Future1st is partnering with one of Australia's leading wholesale plant growers for four motivated Horticulture Trainees to complete a Certificate III in Horticulture while working full-time.

This is an exciting opportunity to join a nursery that develops and breeds new plant varieties, supplies major retailers including Bunnings, and exports premium plants internationally. Key Responsibilities:

  • Preparing potting media and containers ready for planting seeds, tissue cultures and cuttings
  • Routinely monitoring plants to ensure healthy growth and checking for weed, insect, disease and fertilizer problems, along with watering as required
  • Working with machinery in our Greenhouse Production areas for potting and propagating
  • Working alongside a fast-paced production line preparing plants for dispatch
  • Picking and preparing orders with accuracy and care.
  • Assisting other nursery teams involved in the production stage of plants as required


Working Hours

  • Full-time (38 hours per week)
  • Monday to Friday
  • Early starts depending on the team:
    • Dispatch Team: From 7:00 AM - 4.00PM
    • Propagation Team: 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
  • Four-day work week may be available depending on operational requirements
  • Minimal overtime

What We're Looking For

We're looking for people who enjoy practical work and are eager to build a career in the horticulture industry.

Ideally, you'll have:

  • A genuine interest in plants and horticulture
  • A positive attitude and strong willingness to learn
  • Good physical fitness and the ability to perform repetitive manual tasks
  • The ability to work both indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions
  • Strong teamwork, reliability and punctuality
  • A willingness to follow workplace health and safety procedures


Requirements:

  • Must be an Australian or New Zealand Citizen/Permanent Resident
  • MUST HAVE Driving License and a car.  
  • Willing to complete a 12-month accredited Tafe course online.
  • Ability to perform physically demanding and repetitive tasks.
  • Willingness to learn, passionate and driven
