Maintenance Site Supervisor

Our client is a non-denominational, not-for-profit charitable organisation, established to provide appropriate accommodation and related services meeting specific care needs for aged people. We are currently seeking an experienced Maintenance site Supervisor in Ferntree Gully for the facility.

About the role

The Maintenance site Supervisor plays an essential role in overseeing the upkeep, repair and safety standards. This position requires an expert who understands the distinct nuances and requirements of each facility, ensuring the infrastructure remains compliant with sector-specific regulations.

The Maintenance site Supervisor will be responsible for proactive upkeep, swift responses to maintenance issues, and a systematic approach to ensuring our facilities reflect the highest standards of care and wellness.

Core responsibilities include ensuring the structural and operational vitality of the Residential Aged Care facility, making crucial maintenance decisions, and providing consistent assurance of a safe and harmonious environment.

  • Provide a high standard of work, and to carry out tasks in a workman-like manner.
  • Assess and inspect maintenance issues and liaise with residents, relevant interested persons and management regarding appropriate solutions.
  • Prioritise and schedule workload throughout the day and ensure work is completed in a timely manner.
  • Respect the privacy of the residents and to acknowledge that security and confidentiality are crucial elements of the role.
  • Maintain a courteous and friendly attitude to all residents whilst maintaining professional boundaries.
  • To be aware of current Occupational Health & Safety legislation and work within the Act.
  • To communicate with residents that all maintenance requests should be logged with reception.
  • Complete / attend all Mandatory Training as directed by management.
  • Attend team meetings and any other meetings as directed.
  • Ability to complete required documentation.
  • Any other reasonable request

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Preferred, qualified in the trade of either plumbing or carpentry, with additional qualifications related to workplace safety or Occupational Health & Safety highly regarded

About You

  • Demonstrated high level of experience working in a trade or maintenance role
  • Must have knowledge of OHS Legislation, and be able to demonstrate a safe approach to work, and working with tools
  • Must be able to demonstrate a professional approach to work
  • A high level of initiative with an ability to work with limited direction
  • A demonstrated ability to prioritise tasks and work to a deadline
  • An understanding of quality standards and how they relate to your work, for example continuous improvement and complaint handling
  • An understanding and ability to work with maintenance software systems
  • Covid vaccination / boosters and annual Influenza Vaccination desirable
  • A current Police Check (mandatory)
