Maintenance Fitter – Rotating Day & Night Shift
Are you a Trade Qualified Maintenance Fitter with experience maintaining production machinery within a manufacturing environment?
Our client is seeking an experienced Maintenance Fitter to join their maintenance team in a permanent full-time position on a fortnightly rotating roster.

Previous food manufacturing experience is not essential. However, applicants must have previous experience maintaining production machinery within a manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities
- Carry out preventative and breakdown maintenance on production machinery and equipment
- Diagnose and repair mechanical faults to minimize downtime
- Perform routine inspections and planned maintenance
- Maintain and repair conveyors, gearboxes, bearings, pumps, motors, chains, belts and associated production equipment
- Carry out equipment installations, repairs and mechanical upgrades
- Complete maintenance documentation accurately
- Work closely with Production and Maintenance teams to maximize equipment reliability
- Ensure all work is completed safely and in accordance with Workplace Health & Safety requirements
To Be Successful In This Role, You Will Have
- Trade Qualified Maintenance Fitter – Certificate III in Engineering (Mechanical Trade) or an equivalent Australian recognized mechanical trade qualification (Essential)
- Previous experience as a Maintenance Fitter within a manufacturing environment
- Strong mechanical fault-finding and troubleshooting skills
- Experience carrying out preventative and breakdown maintenance on production machinery
- Experience working with conveyors, gearboxes, bearings, pumps, motors, chains, belts and pneumatic systems
- Welding and fabrication experience will be highly regarded
- Strong understanding of Workplace Health & Safety
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Roster
This position operates on a fortnightly rotating12-hour roster:
Remuneration & Benefits
- Permanent full-time employment
- Fixed base hourly rate (no separate day or night rates)
- Saturday: Time and a Half (1.5x)
- Sunday: Double Time (2x)
