Our client is a well-established and highly regarded independent automotive specialist, operating a large and busy workshop and spare parts division in Melbourne’s Eastern Suburbs.Due to continued growth, they are seeking an experienced Senior Parts Interpreter to take a leading role within their parts operation.

This is a full-time, permanent position,Monday to Friday (generally 8:30am – 5:00pm), offering stability, responsibility, and the opportunity to work with a knowledgeable and close-knit team.

The Role

Reporting to the Parts Manager and working closely with the Workshop Manager and Advisors, you will play a key role in ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of the parts department.

Key responsibilities include:

• Accurate interpretation of parts for both retail and trade customers
• Sourcing, pricing and quoting parts using electronic catalogues and systems
• Liaising with workshop management regarding parts requirements and availability
• Processing sales orders, invoices, credits and returns
• Coordinating with suppliers and managing parts purchasing
• Overseeing inventory management and stock control
• Supporting the Parts Manager with daily operations and team requirements

About You

To be successful in this role, you will bring strong experience and leadership capability within parts operations.

You will have:

• Proven experience as a Senior or high-level Parts Interpreter, ideally within the automotive industry
• Strong technical knowledge, preferably with 4x4 or European vehicles
• Excellent communication and customer service skills
• The ability to work autonomously, make sound decisions, and support workshop operations
• A reliable, organised approach with strong attention to detail
• A current unrestricted Victorian driver’s licence

Ongoing support and product training will be provided; however, solid prior experience in a senior parts role isessential.
