Chandler Personnel is looking for motivated, hard-working General farm hands for our fast-paced nursery  based in Pakenham Vic. Our client is a leading global berry brand.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Planting and Harvesting activities.
• Carrying out general farm work
• Labeling, pruning, staking, fertilizing and weeding plants
• Monday - Friday
• 7:30am- 3:30pm
• Occasional work on weekends as well
• Pay rate - $28-$30
• MUST have their own transport
  

Skills and Experience Required:

• Knowledge: A basic understanding of plant biology, horticulture, and gardening techniques is essential.
• Physical Fitness: The ability to perform tasks that may require lifting, bending, and prolonged periods of standing or kneeling.
• Attention to Detail: Careful observation and attention to detail are necessary for identifying and addressing plant health issues.
• Teamwork: Ability to work effectively as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
• Basic Math Skills: Proficiency in basic math for tasks such as measuring and calculating plant quantities and pricing.
• Adaptability: Ability to adapt to changing weather conditions and seasonal demands.
• Resilience: Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions, including heat, cold, and rain.
• Attention to Safety: Commitment to following safety protocols to prevent accidents and injuries.
• Environmental Awareness: Understanding of sustainable gardening practices and environmental conservation principles.
• Flexibility: Willingness to work weekends, holidays, and overtime during busy seasons
